In celebration of Valentine's Day next week, the kids made cards. We spiced things up a bit and made pop-up cards. They were incredibly simple to make. We had a lot of fun pretending to be surprised every time we opened one up.
Start with a strip of paper. |
Fold it in half horizontally and cut half a heart along the fold. |
Fold the open ends in toward the center fold. |
Glue the end flaps inside the card, so that the heart protrudes forward. |
Voila! |
The beginnings of a disaster. |
He made the cutest surprise behind the heart. |
Alyssa kept gluing, gluing, gluing. |
And gluing. |
Jake drew a snow scene, complete with a snowball fight. |
Aren't they cute? |
Jake informed me that they're not real valentines because they're not heart-shaped. Guess what we'll be doing tomorrow.
They did a real good job making them and were so excited to give them to us and show us how they worked.
